ABC Publishers
Based in Jordan, ABC Publishers focuses on children's literary titles that aim to instill morals and social conscientiousness in a subtle and creative manner. With captivating illustrations and culturally authentic text, ABC Publishers' books have quickly become popular with Middle Eastern readers.
Academia International
Established in 1990 in Lebanon, Academia has one of the largest offerings in the Arab publishing industry. Focused on educational and scientific books, Academia has partnered with publishers such as Oxford, Hamlin and Pearson – providing Arabic versions of their best titles.
Asala
Asala was founded in 1998 to fill a gap in the Arabic children’s book industry – producing high quality, culturally authentic, truly engaging storybooks. Asala has an impressive track record for a young publishing house, having already won several international literature awards for their books. Asala is based in Lebanon.
Dar Al Baba
Spearheaded by Walhan Al Baba, Dar Al Baba is a relatively small, family-run publishing house based in Syria. This translates into a great deal of quality and attention to detail in their publications. Dar Al Baba are known for their children’s Arabic-English books as well as their book bundles for early readers that focus on vocabulary building, basic scientific concepts, and religious packs.
Bright Fingers
Bright Fingers is a small publishing house run out of Damascus, Syria and established in 2005. Bright Fingers develops a creative product range that is targeted at providing newborns to 14 year olds. The publishing house aims to make learning fun for young readers, with a focus on materials that parents and teachers can enjoy along with their children/students.
Dar El Chimal
Dar El Chimal is a publishing house based in Tripoli, Lebanon. Established in 1945, Dar El Chimal has a long standing track record of collaborating with experts in children’s education and has grown to be one of the leading publishers in Lebanon.
Dar Al-Hadaek
Dar Al-Hadaek is more than just a publishing house, they are also a company that specializes in Arabic educational theory. This means that every one of their titles is grounded in children’s literary research and is approved by industry experts. Dar Al-Hadaek was founded in Lebanon in 1987 and has maintained that focus on quality ever since.
Dar Al Hafez
Araboh stocks sing-along audio CDs from Dar Al Hafez, a Damascus-based production company that has been creating children’s educational products since 1993. Dar Al Hafez products are culturally focused with themes of service, charity and identity.
Dar El Ilm Lilmalayin
A dedicated publishing house with its own printing presses, Dar Al Ilm Lilmalayin has produced several record-breaking bestsellers in the Arab world. With translation rights to several major English language children's literary series' as well as a vast portfolio of original Arabic titles, Dar El Ilm Lilmalayin's specialization in dictionaries and children's books have made it a leader in it's niche.
Dar Alketab Altheqafy
Based in Amman, Jordan – Dar Alketab Altheqafy publishes a large portfolio of literature and reference books suitable for adult readers. While their children’s range may be a small subsection of their publications – it fills an important gap in the Arab literary world, offering world classic tales translated into English-Arabic novel form for families and students to enjoy both at home and in the classroom.
Dar Al Majani
Dar Al Majani is based in Lebanon and stands out with authentic Arabic children's series books. Dar Al Majani's original elementary-level range combines fun stories and lovable characters with important life lessons and subtle moral and educational messages. This is supplemented by translated non-fiction materials such as the acclaimed Larousse Encyclopedia series.
Dar Al Moualef
Lebanon based publisher Dar Al Moualef maintains a concentration on learning ethics and behavior through engaging literature and fun exercise books. Through a growing portfolio of illustrated junior dictionaries, sticker books and activity books, this publishing house truly makes education of the Arabic language as fun as possible.
Dar AlRouqy
Dar AlRouqy believe that nothing is more important in a child’s educational development as access to high quality literature. This publishing house is known for it’s literary creativity and attention to detail in children’s works. Dar AlRouqy is was established in Lebanon in 1986.
Dar Al Shorouk
Dar El-Shorouk was established in Egypt in 1968 by Mohamed El Moallem, one of the founding fathers of independent modern publishing in Egypt and the Arab World. Their books are used in Arab school systems by several Ministries of Education.With numerous international awards and prizes in the field of children's books, Dar Al Shorouk remains focused on nurturing a sense of cultural pride in young readers and uplifting the current woes of the Arabian societies it works in.
Dar Rabie
Established in 1950, Dar Rabie’s slogan is "Our children's education comes first". With books that speak to the playful world of childhood, Dar Rabie has one of the most comprehensive children’s Arabic ranges that support educational development from birth all the way up to adolescence. The Dar Rabie range includes everything from baby bath books to teenage non-fiction materials.
Al Jazeera Children’s Channel
Headquartered in Education City, Doha - Al Jazeera Children’s Channel is an edutainment television channel that promotes learning and engaging with fun and authentic programs. Al Jazeera produces almost 40% of it’s own programming, the highest proportion of any children’s channel – and all these programs are delivered in Modern Standard Arabic, giving them universal appeal.
Jerboa Books
UAE publisher Jerboa Books is dedicated to producing top quality children's books that focus on the culture, heritage and wildlife of Arabia. With their focus on Arabian culture as well as the Arabic language, Jerboa Books are very popular popular in local Gulf schools and libraries. Many of their titles are available in both Arabic and English prints.
Kalimat
Based in Sharjah UAE, and active around the Arab world, Kalimat produces books renowned for their distinguished design, eye-catching illustrations, and innovative content. Kalimat books have won several prestigious awards since their establishment in 2008, and their stories rooted in local Arab culture are produced by some of the best authors and illustrators in Arabic children’s literature.
Librairie Du Liban
Librairie Du Liban has grown significantly since it was established in 1944 as a distributor of Longman publications. Today they have a portfolio of over 2,500 publications of their own. Librairie Du Liban owns the rights to publish Arabic versions of the famous Ladybird book series and Butterfly book series, available on Araboh.
Scholastic
My Arabic Library is a unique educational project developed by Scholastic, having some of their most well-known English titles carefully selected and translated into Arabic by local education professionals. These quality books are available individually, or in grade sets – suitable for classroom reading with an accompanying teacher’s guide and class poster.
Samir Editeur
With headquarters in Morocco and Lebanon, Samir Editeur publishes French, Arabic and English school and extracurricular books. Their titles are often incorporated into the curriculums of schools that teach French and Arabic in the Arab world, and they are well known for quality multi-lingual reference books.
